If you are here, you are probably interested in knowing a bit more about what might make me suitable to help you, and I’m very glad to see that you’re not settling on just the basics! Whatever it is that is keeping you stuck or that does not work for you anymore needs to be addressed, modified, changed or eliminated and at this very moment, while you think about whether you will contact me or not, it is very important that you have the utmost transparency.
You may already know why you feel the way you do, but often times, you may not understand why or where it is coming from. Our work together will help you to become aware of how the way you think about certain situations are impacting your feelings and creating behaviors that get in the way of the life that you want to live.
I will share with you my knowledge and passion with the relationship between neuroscience and anxiety so that you may also have a strong base of knowledge of why you do what you do. You will learn strategies to help modify those thoughts and behaviors that are blocking your progress. Whether it is managing your anxiety due to relationship issues, chronic illness or insecurities that go as far as childhood, the right combination of therapy and support can be the first step towards making the changes that you want in your life.
I absolutely love what I do because I believe that everyone can learn to manage their worries, find self-control and conquer lifelong fears, and choosing the right therapist for you is an important first step.
How I Work
“Good chemistry” is a term that we often use when referring to that “indescribable” feeling that you experience in relationships that click effortlessly and automatically. Meeting a new therapist can evoke both feelings of excitement and awkwardness, as you think about the changes that you want to make but also having to entrust your personal thoughts and feelings to someone who you barely know, or not at all.
Before you even know what to expect, start with trusting your gut feeling and ask yourself “Do I feel comfortable and at ease speaking with this person? Am I looking forward to telling her more about me? Do we have good chemistry?” If you answer YES to any of those questions, you can rest assured that you have set yourself up on a very good path. I focus on helping you to uncover your inner strengths and developing life long skills.
We all have innate strengths, but we are not always aware of them and they are difficult to access when you are feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, insecure, out of control of your life or just overall “lost”. I work with you to understand the barriers that are keeping you from living the life that you want, helping you to learn and improve on coping strategies or skills that will help you to address those barriers in effective and meaningful ways and finally, to help you identify and work towards achieving real and attainable goals. My interaction with you will be conversational, creative and drizzled with a bit of humor.
It is important that you feel comfortable in taking that first step with me and for that reason, I offer an initial free consultation. I have proficient experience in the use of providing sessions via Online Therapy because life (or train traffic, or car traffic!) sometimes gets in the way and I want to ensure that you have access to your session from wherever you might be. My treatment approach is unique because you are too.
I am curious about you and your life. I want to know what has worked for you in the past and what is no longer working for you now. I approach each person who I work with as the individual that he/she is and integrate my skills to best fit their particular needs.
